NEET PG
It is an entrance examination for students who wish to study various postgraduate courses like such as Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), PG diploma, Diplomate of National Board (DNB), Doctorate of National Board (DrNB), and NBEMS diploma in government or private medical colleges in India.
However, NExT would soon replace NEET PG for admission to postgraduate medical courses
Eligibility:
Nationality : Indian Nationals
- Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
- Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs)
- Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)
- Foreign Nationals
Educational Qualification:
- Must possess an MBBS degree or a provisional MBBS pass certificate recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
Internship:
- Must have completed a one-year internship or likely to complete it on or before a specified date, typically March 31 of the examination year.
Registration:
- Must have a provisional or permanent registration certificate issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC).
Age Limit:
There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing for NEET PG.
No. of Attempts:
There is no limit on the number of attempts a candidate can take for NEET PG.
Exam Pattern:
- Mode of Examination: computer-based test (CBT) mode.
- Total Duration: 3 hours and 30 minutes (210 minutes).
- Number of Questions: 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- Question Type: All questions are objective type with four options, out of which one is the correct answer.
Marking Scheme:
- Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks.
- 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.
- No marks are deducted for unattempted questions.
