Kurzeme is one of Latvia’s five planning regions, located in the western part of the country near the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Riga.

There are two higher education institutions and six vocational education institutions in the region. 

Electronics, energy, information technology, metalworking, mechatronics, engineering mechanics, car mechanics, construction, safety, road transport, services, catering, wood products, tourism, humanities and arts, pedagogy, management, and social sciences are some of the educational specialities.
