Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University is one of Ukraine’s top medical schools. The university was founded in 1996 as an extension of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. The university was granted state status in the year 2000, and it was later granted ‘national’ university status in 2016. This university is one of the more affordable options for MBBS students in Ukraine. The university is recognized by WHO and NMC, and in 2009, it became a member of the European Association of Universities. In the annual UNESCO “Top 200 Ukraine” university ranking for 2015-2016, the University was ranked 44th out of the best 200 educational institutions in Ukraine.
There are post-graduate programs in 12 specialities. Training is given in both Ukrainian and English. Students can study French, German, Spanish, Polish, Bulgarian, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, or Hebrew.
The university has shaped all conditions that are comfortable for student learning with modern and international educational standards, resulting in the shaping of the future of medical students who have completed their degree and can apply for International licensing exams such as the MCI Screening Test. Black Sea National University is one of Ukraine’s newest higher education institutions located in the city of Mykolayiv. WHO and MCI recognise the university, and the university joined the European Association of Universities in 2009.
