Lugansk State Medical University, also known as Voroshilovgrad State Medical University, was established in 1956. I.D. Vashenko was the first rector of LSMU and a Ukrainian honorary doctor. The LSMU has been accredited at the IVth level by Ukraine’s Ministry of Health.
The institute has over 170 medical specialities, 400 medical personnel, 60 scientists, and 270 candidates involved in research and development projects.
The medical program at Lugansk State Medical University lasts six years and leads to the degree of MD or MBBS.
