Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University
Lviv National Medical University, also known as Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University, was founded in 1784. It is one of Ukraine’s oldest universities. Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University is one of Ukraine’s leading medical universities, with 4th level accreditation from the Ukrainian Ministry of Health. Danylo Halytsky National Medical University is named after him. Danylo Halytsky was awarded the Grand Prix “Leader of International Activities” in 2018 and also received a Gold Medal in the constitution of Implementations of Innovations in the Pedagogical Process for Improving Graduate Knowledge.
Lviv Medical University was renamed Lviv Medical Institute in the autumn of 1939. The Faculty of Medicine was separate from the University of Lviv. Following that, it became an autonomous university known as the State Medical Institute, with 495 physicians graduating in its first two years. The institute was elevated to the status of a university in 1996 and renamed The Lviv State Medical University.
