Types of PTE Exam

PTE Academic Core

PTE core is a single 2-hour test that can be taken when applying for permanent residency in Canada or Canadian citizenship. It is a computer-based English test that assesses general speaking, writing, reading and listening skills.

PTE Academic UKVI

It has the same exam format as PTE Academic. However, it will provide a SELT Unique Reference Number ( URN ) to include for UK visa application. To study an undergraduate or postgraduate course in the UK, its institutes might sponsor student visas. In other words, a Confirmation of Acceptance ( CAS ) for studies is used in place of a URN for visa application. If a Uk institution issues a CAS, candidates can either take PTE Academic or  PTE Academic UKVI.
